One Message Can Make Yesterday Look Like a Typographical Error!
TODAY’S ENCOUNTER
There are messages and there are MESSAGES.
Some messages make you smile.
Some make you hiss.
Some make you check your bank balance before replying.
And then there is a message from the king the kind that can rearrange your address, rewrite your status, change your wardrobe, and make people who ignored you suddenly remember that they have always “believed in you.”
Life can be wonderfully dramatic when God enters the script!
The Bible repeatedly shows us that one message from the right authority can terminate years of waiting. You may have prayed for years, waited for months, cried through nights, and wondered whether Heaven misplaced your file. Then suddenly, somebody says:
“The king is asking for you.”
My friend, when God decides to turn your story around, He does not need a committee meeting. He only needs to touch the heart of someone who has the authority to open the door.
Proverbs 21:1 reminds us that kings may sit on thrones, but God holds their hearts.
1. JOSEPH — “PHARAOH IS CALLING FOR YOU!”
Genesis 41:14–41
Imagine Joseph that morning.
No appointment.
No recommendation letter.
No political connection.
No expensive suit waiting in the wardrobe.
He woke up a prisoner.
Then came the message:
“Pharaoh wants to see you.”
Suddenly, barber! Bathroom! New clothes!
The man who had been discussing dreams with prisoners was now discussing national economics with Pharaoh.
By evening, Joseph was no longer Prisoner Joseph; he was effectively Prime Minister Joseph.
What changed?
A message from the king.
God can compress ten years of struggling into one day of favour.
Your present location is not necessarily your permanent address. The God who knows where Joseph was in prison knows exactly where you are.
When your appointed message arrives, even the prison gate will have to cooperate.
2. MORDECAI — WHEN HEAVEN GAVE THE KING INSOMNIA
Esther 6:1–11
Mordecai had done something worthy of honour, but nobody rewarded him.
No certificate.
No appreciation dinner.
Not even “God bless you, sir.”
His good deed appeared to have entered the government archive and gathered dust.
But one night, the king could not sleep.
Sometimes your breakthrough may begin because somebody important suddenly loses sleep!
The king requested the chronicles, discovered Mordecai’s forgotten service and asked:
«“What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this?”»
Answer: Nothing.
Heaven said, “Exactly! That error must be corrected.”
Before long, the same Haman who wanted Mordecai destroyed was advertising Mordecai’s promotion through the streets.
What a God!
When God remembers you, your enemy may accidentally become your publicity secretary.
Never conclude that because people forgot what you did, God also forgot.
Heaven keeps better records than human beings.
3. MEPHIBOSHETH — “THE KING WANTS YOU AT THE TABLE”
2 Samuel 9:1–13
Mephibosheth was living in Lo-debar a place associated with obscurity and deprivation.
He was crippled, forgotten and probably accustomed to expecting very little from life.
Then came the message:
“King David is asking for you.”
That message must have frightened him initially. When a king suddenly remembers a forgotten descendant of a former royal family, you may want to update your will before answering the invitation!
But David was not calling him for judgment.
He was calling him for restoration.
David restored Saul’s property to him and declared that Mephibosheth would continually eat at the king’s table.
Yesterday: Lo-debar.
Today: Royal table.
Yesterday: Forgotten.
Today: Remembered.
Yesterday: Surviving.
Today: Dining with royalty.
That is what one message can do.
Your weakness cannot cancel covenant mercy. Your history cannot imprison divine favour. When grace sends for you, Lo-debar must release you.
YOUR OWN MESSAGE CAN STILL COME
Perhaps you are waiting for:
“Your application has been approved.”
“You have been appointed.”
“Your admission has been granted.”
“The contract has been awarded.”
“The money has been credited.”
“The medical report is favourable.”
“Your case has been reconsidered.”
“Please come and collect your letter.”
Or perhaps the message you need cannot even be described yet.
Do not worship your phone or refresh your email every thirty seconds until your battery develops anxiety!
Trust the God who controls the sender.
The real miracle is not the SMS, email, letter or phone call.
The miracle is the King of kings touching the heart of the person who sends it.
Joseph received his message.
Mordecai received his message.
Mephibosheth received his message.
May your own message of good news locate you

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Never underestimate what God can do with one phone call, one email, one letter, one recommendation or one sentence from someone whose heart He has touched.
You may go to bed with yesterday’s problem and wake up to a message from the king.
