MESSAGE

Beloved, sometimes the enemy is not in the village. Sometimes he is swimming inside the soup!

We bind witches at midnight but invite excess sugar to breakfast. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity while eating as though tomorrow has been cancelled.

Someone is shouting, “Every arrow of the enemy, back to sender!” while his plate quietly whispers, “No need, sir; this one is an inside job.”

The sons of the prophets in 2 Kings 4 were not poisoned by enemies. They cooked their own problem. They gathered what they did not understand, put it in the pot, and almost turned lunch into a funeral reception.

Eventually they screamed:

“Man of God, there is death in the pot!”

Perhaps our generation needs to scream the same thing.

1. WHEN YOUR PLATE BECOMES A PRAYER POINT

Some Christians know the seven churches of Revelation but cannot recognise a balanced meal.

They know the fruit of the Spirit, but vegetables remain a mystery.

The doctor says, “Reduce your sugar.”

You reply, “I reject it in Jesus’ name!”

My brother, what exactly are you rejecting sickness or wisdom?

You are already sweet enough. Reduce the sugar!

Faith does not cancel common sense. God heals miraculously, but wisdom also teaches us not to repeatedly damage the body and then demand miracles to repair what discipline could help prevent.

2. YOUR STOMACH IS NOT A DUSTBIN

Some stomachs deserve awards for endurance.

Morning: sugary drink.
Afternoon: fried food.
Evening: heavy meal.
Midnight: “Just something small.”

Unfortunately, the “something small” sometimes needs three plates and a bottle of soft drink.

Then at 2 a.m., the stomach starts a prayer meeting:

“Brethren, we are gathered because our owner has refused wisdom.”

Even machines require proper fuel. You cannot pour palm oil into a motorcycle and organise deliverance when the engine refuses to start.

Your body deserves responsible care.

3. SOME GRAVES ARE DUG WITH SPOONS

Not every battle is caused by an enemy.

Some battles are sponsored by appetite.

The doctor says, “Reduce salt.”

Your tongue says, “Food must have taste!”

“Reduce sugar.”

“Life is already bitter!”

“Exercise.”

Suddenly you become theological:

“The Lord is my strength!”

Amen! But the Lord being your strength does not turn your sofa into a treadmill.

Self-control is part of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23). Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can tell yourself is:

“Enough!”

4. DON'T TURN FASTING INTO A COMPETITION

Pastor A fasted seven days.

Pastor B heard and announced fourteen.

Prophet C said, “God is taking me deeper!” and declared twenty-one.

Soon everybody is competing, and nobody remembers who actually instructed them to fast.

Jesus fasted forty days and returned in the power of the Spirit (Luke 4:14).

Some people fast three days and return in the power of anger.

Everybody becomes irritating. Even “Good morning” sounds like persecution.

Beloved, fasting should produce spiritual fruit, not turn your stomach into an empty cathedral and your family into casualties.

5. STOP GIVING THE DEVIL FREE PUBLICITY

The devil is real. Spiritual warfare is real. Divine healing is real.

But wisdom is also biblical.

Sometimes we pray against what we should simply correct.

We pray for strength but refuse rest.

We pray for health but ignore reasonable medical advice.

We pray for long life while maintaining habits working in the opposite direction.

Then consequences arrive and Satan receives an accusation letter for an offence he may not have committed.

Please stop giving the devil free publicity!

Scripture says:

«“Your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost…” — 1 Corinthians 6:19»

You service the church generator.

You maintain the microphone.

You clean the altar.

You repair the church bus.

Please remember to maintain the preacher too!

Reflection

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

Don't spend all night fighting demons while spending all day feeding diseases.

ACTION POINT

Inspect your plate, sleep, exercise, medical care and daily habits.

Sometimes the breakthrough is not another bottle of anointing oil.

Sometimes it is a bottle of water.

Sometimes it is not another seven-day programme.

It is adequate rest.

And sometimes it is not:

“Die by fire!”

It is simply:

“MY APPETITE, BEHAVE YOURSELF

Prayer

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, deliver me from ignorance and destructive habits.
2. Lord, give me wisdom and self-control to care for my body.
3. Help me combine faith with wisdom, prayer with discipline, and spirituality with responsible living.
4. Father, preserve my life to fulfil my divine assignment.
5. There shall be no death in my pot, my body, my family and my ministry, in Jesus’ name!

CONCLUSION

The devil is dangerous, but don't allow your appetite to become his unpaid assistant.

God who anoints your head also expects wisdom to govern your stomach.

Your body carries your calling. Take care of the vessel carrying the oil.

There is no special crown in heaven labelled:

“For Those Who Died Because They Refused to Reduce Sugar.”

Pray against the enemy. Believe God for miracles. But embrace wisdom, moderation and discipline.

May there be no death in your pot.
May your appetite never become your adversary.
And may you live long and strong enough to fulfil your divine assignment.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
