MOMENT OF ENCOUNTER DEVOTIONAL

By Prophet Dr. Abiodun Adesida

MESSAGE

One of the greatest mistakes Christians make is expecting a trouble-free world simply because they serve a trouble-conquering God!

Jesus never promised us a world without trouble. He promised us peace in the midst of trouble.

Interestingly, some Christians have turned Christianity into an insurance policy against unpleasant experiences. They believe that once they are born again, enemies should disappear, sickness should resign, poverty should relocate, and disappointment should lose their address!

But Jesus did not say, “In this world you MAY have trouble.” He said, “You WILL have trouble!”

Even the Son of God was betrayed by a friend, denied by a disciple, rejected by His people, and crucified by those He came to save.

So, beloved, who told you that everybody must like you because you carry anointing?

Who told you that every business must succeed because you pay your tithe?

Who told you that every marriage must be without disagreement because both partners speak in tongues?

Some believers want the crown of glory but are unwilling to carry the cross of responsibility!

We have a generation that can bind Satan for three hours but cannot apologise for three minutes. Some blame witches for the consequences of their indiscipline, call every correction persecution, and describe the harvest of their bad decisions as spiritual attacks!

My brother, not every trouble is caused by the devil. Sometimes, what we call spiritual warfare is simply the consequence of refusing divine wisdom.

Nevertheless, Jesus gives us an extraordinary assurance: “Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Jesus did not promise that trouble would surrender to your presence. He assured us that trouble would never have the final authority over our destiny in Him.

Joseph had God's promise, yet he entered prison.

Daniel was faithful, yet he entered the lions' den.

Paul was anointed, yet he experienced shipwreck.

The three Hebrew men refused idolatry, yet they entered the furnace.

Their troubles were not evidence that God had abandoned them. Their faithfulness revealed that adversity could not separate them from Him.

Beloved, do not allow the troubles of this world to turn you into the very evil you are praying against.

Do not become dishonest because others cheated you.

Do not become wicked because someone wounded you.

Do not abandon righteousness because the unrighteous appear to prosper.

The world may trouble your circumstances, but do not give it permission to corrupt your character.

Remember, Jesus said, “In ME you may have peace,” not in your bank account, political connections, academic qualifications, marriage, or earthly possessions.

Those things may bring comfort, but only Christ can give peace that survives life's uncertainties.

Reflection

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

If your Christianity works only when everything is working, perhaps you have developed faith in comfort rather than confidence in Christ.

A victorious Christian is not someone who never encounters trouble, but someone who refuses to allow trouble to separate him from God.

Prayer

PROPHETIC ENCOURAGEMENT

I may not know the battle confronting you today, but I know the One who has overcome the world!

Your tears are not proof of defeat, and your present struggles are not the final chapter of your story.

You may be in trouble, but remember: you are also in Christ, and Christ has overcome the world!

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, grant me peace that circumstances cannot destroy, in Jesus' name.
2. Lord, deliver me from troubles arising from my ignorance, disobedience, and wrong decisions.
3. Father, strengthen my faith so that the wickedness of this world will never corrupt my Christian character.
4. Every battle threatening my spiritual stability, let the victory of Christ sustain me through it, in Jesus' name.
5. Lord, turn my present trials into testimonies of Your faithfulness.

FINAL WORD: Do not measure God's faithfulness by the absence of trouble. Christ remains Lord even in the midst of it.

THE WORLD MAY GIVE YOU TROUBLE, BUT NEVER ALLOW TROUBLE TO TAKE AWAY YOUR TRUST IN GOD!

Remain blessed, faithful, and courageous!

Your Brother,

Prophet Abiodun Adesida
